Mumbai, 10th September, 06: Around 50 senior US corporate executives from diverse industries and studying at the Stern School of Business in New York will be in Mumbai on the 12th & 13th of September, to understand at first-hand, the flourishing media and entertainment industry that is Bollywood. Knowledge Space International Inc, a technology leader in the media and entertainment industry and a firm believer in the convergence of technology and entertainment, has taken the initiative in measuring out a dollop of Bollywood to the visiting corporate executives.

Partnering with India’s foremost Institute on Filmmaking – Whistling Woods International – Knowledge Space International has planned a series of talks by celebrities and senior personnel from the entertainment world, which would shed light on issues such as:

  • Financing the Entertainment Industry: Where do the funds come from?
  • Effeciencies and Management: Professional management and global international techniques in Bollywood
  • Impediments in Globalization: Why has Bollywood not become like a global industry like Hollywood?
  • The New Bollywood: Internationalization & Cross-Over Cinema

  • Mr. Subhash Ghai, Chairman and Managing Director, Mukta Arts Limited, and a veritable institute in Filmmaking himself, would be sharing his thoughts with this august gathering. About this event, Mr. Ghai had this to say “ I applaud the role Knowledge Space International is playing in bringing this distinguished group to view the business aspect behind the phantasmagoria that is Bollywood. I am aware of some of the work Knowledge Space International is doing with Whistling Woods on the digitization front.”

Among the distinguished list of speakers are Mr. Manmohan Shetty (Managing Director, Adlabs Films Limited), Mr. Ravi Chopra (Producer & Director, B R Films), Mr. Ravi Gupta (CEO, Mukta Arts Limited) and Mr. Kurt Inderbitzin (Hollywood Producer and Dean, Whistling Woods International). Mr. Rahul Puri (VP Finance and Strategy, Mukta Arts Ltd.) would be making a presentation on Indian Entertainment Industry.

Knowledge Space International’s Executive Vice President Ineka Haas, adds “This session aims to address the growing global interest in ‘Bollywood’ and to provide an insight into this Industry. The ever-increasing Indian Diaspora around the world, has made the Indian entertainment industry step out of the shadows and come into its own. This has significantly the whole economics of the business, for the Bollywood itself, as well as for the companies that depend on people from the subcontinent for their business. This far-sighted initiative by Knowledge Space International is the first of its kind and we look forward to creating such platforms to bring businesses and business people from around the world to India in the future as well”.
